Before You Go

Beaman Park is one of Nashville Metro's crown jewels, spanning more than 1,700 acres of Western Highland Rim forest along the Cheatham County border. The park features over 16 miles of hiking trails ranging from a quarter-mile ADA-accessible boardwalk to the rugged 12.5-mile Laurel Woods Trail, with terrain moving through deep hollows, creek sides, and forested ridgetops. The Beaman Park Nature Center, open Tuesday through Saturday, houses natural history exhibits, a library, programming space, a pollinator garden, and a canopy walk into the treetops. The center hosts regular free programs including wildflower hikes, birdwatching, yoga, and night hikes, and serves as the main trailhead for the park's extensive trail network. Dogs are welcome on leash on the trails.
