Lock A Campground

Lock A Campground sits on the north bank of Cheatham Lake, just upstream from the Cheatham Lock and Dam, offering one of the most complete camping experiences in Cheatham County. The campground features 45 sites — seven tent-only and the rest accommodating RVs up to 50 feet — all with 50-amp electric hookups, paved parking pads, picnic tables, and fire rings. Amenities include hot showers, flush toilets, a dump station, boat launch with courtesy floats, swimming area, playground, volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits. For hikers, the Cumberland River Bicentennial Trail is accessible directly from the campground — a 6.5-mile rails-to-trails route that crosses Sycamore Creek on a historic abandoned railroad trestle. The campground operates on a reservation-only basis through recreation.gov, and the temperate Tennessee climate allows for a lengthy recreation season including boating, swimming, canoeing, and fishing.
